SUBPOENAS ISSUED FOR FORMER CHIEF OF STAFF

The Maryland General Assembly has retained an outside lawyer as lead independent counsel, as they continue to investigate the Maryland Environmental Service. The Legislative Policy Committee has also authorized subpoenas for documents and testimony to Roy McGrath, the service’s former director and Matthew Sherring, its former director of operations. McGrath served as Governor Hogan’s chief of staff, until it came to light he received a generous severance from the agency when he moved to the governor’s office.
