Garrett County’s weather forecasts will now be handled by the National Weather Services Baltimore-Washington office in Sterling, Virginia and not the Pittsburgh office, as has been the case for the last three decades. Improvements in technology have made it easier to share weather data between offices, with the Baltimore-Washington location equipped to handle forecasts and warnings for Maryland’s westernmost county.
