Sixty-nine-year-old Sara Brookfield of Wardensville, West Virginia was killed in a two-vehicle crash this past weekend on Carper’s Pike, near Yellow Spring. The accident occurred as a car driven by Robert Brookfield was hit head-on, by another vehicle, driven by Martinsburg resident Andrew Clark. Both cars received extensive damage and all occupants had to be extricated from their vehicles. Both Sara and Robert Brookfield, along with Clark, were taken to the hospital; Mrs. Brookfield later died from her injuries. The Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate why Clark crossed over the center line.
