A 40-year-old inmate at the North Branch Correctional Institution was stabbed Monday, and the incident remains under investigation. The inmate was taken to UPMC-Western Maryland for treatment of a stab wound to the abdomen. The incident involved three inmates and the use of a handmade weapon. No officers were injured in the incident.
