COUNTY, STATE LEADERS ADDRESS PFIZER VACCINE SITUATION

Both Allegany County Commission President Jake Shade and members of the Western Maryland Delegation to the General Assembly have been in contact with state officials, regarding the first round of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, and the fact that Western Maryland was left out. The correspondence points to the fact that there was some confusion as to how many eligible healthcare workers are associated with facilities in both Allegany and Garrett Counties. It was strongly urged that Governor Hogan reconsider plans for the distribution of the vaccine. All those involved may participate in a conference call on the issue, possibly as soon as today.
