NURSING HOMES TO RECEIVE COVID-19 VACCINES IN TWO WEEKS

All Maryland hospitals and nursing homes will receive the coronavirus vaccine within the next two weeks. During a press conference yesterday, Governor Larry Hogan said he has reactivated the Maryland National Guard to help provide logistical support to the vaccination effort. Dr. Jinlene Chan, Acting Deputy Director for the Maryland Department of Health, says Maryland has 800,000 to 850,000 health workers, and the original figure of 300,000 vaccines the state will receive in the next several weeks may fluctuate. Both CVS and Walgreens are working to schedule vaccination clinics at nursing homes, while local health departments are setting up clinics for first responders in the next couple of weeks.
