STATE REPRESENTATIVE DEAD AT 42

State Representative Mike Reese, who represented Westmoreland and Somerset Counties, has died of an apparent brain aneurysm; he died at Westmoreland Hospital, with his family by his side. He was 42 years old. Reese was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2008 and most recently served as the House Caucus secretary. He was also elected to serve as the House chairman during the 2020-2021 session. Governor Tom Wolf ordered the commonwealth flag to be flown at half-staff, along with U.S. flags that had been flying at half-staff, in honor of former Governor Dick Thornburgh, who died last Thursday, as well as for the victims of COVID-19.
