MARYLAND LAUNCHES NEW HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT PERIOD

Uninsured Marylanders will have a second chance to enroll in health coverage. Governor Larry Hogan announced yesterday the enrollment period will be extended to March 15th. Health plans cover the cost of coronavirus tests. Marylanders who enroll by the 15th of this month will be retroactively covered to January 1st; between January 16th and February 15th, they will be covered, effective February 1st; later enrollees will be covered effective March 1st. The previous special enrollment period, from March through December 15th of last year, saw nearly 107,000 enrolled in health coverage.
