An unidentified inmate at the Western Correctional Institution was found dead in his cell Sunday evening. The incident remains under investigation by the Maryland State Police. A routine check found the inmate, in his 20’s, unresponsive. Medical assistance and CPR was performed, with the local ambulance service taking over life-saving measures, but to no avail. The cause of death is pending.
