HOGAN PREVIEWS FY 2022 BUDGET

Governor Larry Hogan has announced his Fiscal Year 2022 budget yesterday, which would provide more than a billion dollars in tax relief and aid to struggling Maryland residents and small businesses while maintaining essential services. The budget includes the proposals in the RELIEF Act, announced last week; the Governor also called for eliminating state income taxes on many retirees. What he did not address was the costly Kirwan Commission education reforms but cautioned against passing anything that would require tax hikes.
