FOUR DEATHS, 62 NEW COVID CASES

The Allegany County Health Department is reporting four additional COVID-19 deaths and 62 new cases. The cumulative case count is now 6,205 in Allegany County, with 184 fatalities. The current case rate is below the state’s, at 22.32 cases per 100,000. In Maryland, the rate is 29.53. The positivity rate in the county is 5.37 per cent, while Maryland’s average is 5.61. Vaccination efforts continue in the county, but supplies are extremely limited. And, health officials are still urging the public to practice social distancing, wear a mask when around others who don’t live with you, practice good hand hygiene, avoid social gatherings, and continue to clean and disinfect frequently handled objects and surfaces.
