The Garrett County Board of Education has voted to extend Superintendent Barbara Baker’s contract through 2025. Ms. Baker sent the board a letter, requesting they extend her contract four more years. The new contract begins July 1st and will be in effect for four years. There are some uncertainties regarding enrollment, to which funding is tied. Ms. Baker noted she would accept a contract that does not include a salary increase or a hike in fringe benefits.
