SHADE ANNOUNCES OVER 10,000 RESIDENTS VACCINATED

Allegany County hit a milestone this past weekend, as more than 10,000 residents have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine; the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 7,137 residents. President of the Allegany County Board of Commissioners has praised the Allegany County Health Department and UPMC for their efforts. Allegany County now has the lowest case rate and lowest positivity percentage in the state of Maryland. The county has also dispersed over $3.2 million in grants to over 300 local businesses since May of last year. As a side note, the Allegany County Office Complex will reopen next Monday at 8:00 a.m. The Allegany County Board of Commissioners will be open to the public, following social distancing guidelines at the next Public Business Meeting on Thursday, March 11th at 5:00 p.m.
