MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDERING WIFE, STEPDAUGHTER

Bedford County resident Benjamin Figard will serve a life sentence, without the possibility of parole, after pleading guilty to murdering his wife and stepdaughter in October of 2019. Figard called the Pennsylvania State Police on October 31, 2019, and admitted to shooting and killing 40-year-old Amanda Figard and 12-year-old Laina Haney at their Napier Township home. He shot the victims around 4:30 p.m. but waited several hours before reporting it to authorities.
