FOOT PURSUIT LEADS TO DRUG ARREST

Donald Matthew Garland was arrested late yesterday morning, as Allegany County Sheriff’s deputies tried to serve three outstanding Circuit Court warrants on him in Frostburg. All three were related to his failure to appear in court. Garland fled, and deputies eventually apprehended him, and discovered a large amount of suspected fentanyl on him. Along with the warrants he now faces various drug counts, along with charges of obstructing and hindering and resisting arrest. He was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on the strength of the Circuit Court warrants, while also awaiting an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
