HOGAN CONDEMNS ANTI-ASIAN VIOLENCE

Governor Larry Hogan, First Lady Yumi Hogan and Howard County Executive Calvin Ball visited businesses along “Korean Way” in Ellicott City to condemn anti-Asian violence and discrimination. The governor says Maryland is standing together with the state’s Asian American community and taking action to combat this disturbing trend.  Hogan has directed State Police and all law enforcement agencies to increase enhanced visibility patrols and protection for members of the Asian community.  Several Asian-owned restaurants in Howard County were burglarized last month around the time of the Lunar New Year, but police have not determined if race was a factor in the crimes.
