Billy Joel says that he learned not to wish he was someone else early on. “When we were in high school, there were the people we thought who were so cool. I thought, ‘Man, I wish I was that guy. He had the perfect pompadour. He always had great clothes, the coolest shoes.  Then, I saw him at the 10-year union, and this guy was like a caved in ashtray. Sometimes you just have to be happy with the hand life dealt you.”
