State lawmakers have overridden Governor Larry Hogan’s vetoes of police reform. General Assembly members decided on the overrides this weekend. The assembly overrode the Governor’s vetoes to nix statewide use-of-force policy and public access to police officer disciplinary records. The Governor says the measures would have a negative impact on officer morale and damage recruitment and retention.
