The preliminary cause of a fire at a home on Nugent Lane in Friendsville has been determined to be an outdoor refrigerator that experienced an electrical malfunction. The fire, at the home of Ricky and Victoria Nugent, was reported early Sunday morning, and caused a total of $15,000 to the structure and its contents. There were no injuries, and the fire is being termed “accidental” in nature. The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
