ARCHAEOLOGISTS DISCOVER HOME OF HARRIET TUBMAN’S FATHER

Archaeologists in Maryland are digging up a historic home site once owned by Harriet Tubman’s father.  The home of Tubman’s father Ben Ross, was discovered on new property added to the Black Water National Wildlife Refuge in Dorchester County officials announced yesterday.  Artifacts like nails, brick, glass, dish fragments and a button were found on site. With knowledge of the location, experts were able to confirm the house as Ross’.  Ross worked at the timbered wetlands nearby in the 1840’s.
