BUCKEL NAMED MINORITY LEADER

District 1-B Delegate Jason Buckel has been chosen minority leader in the Maryland House of Delegates, the first county lawmaker to hold the post since J. Glenn Beall in the 1960’s.  Buckel’s term will be for one year, and the office holder can continue from year to year, as long as a challenger does not emerge. Delegate Christopher Adams of the Eastern Shore was elected minority whip in the House. State Senator George Edwards was minority leader from 2002-2006 when he served in the House of Delegates.
