HOGAN ANNOUNCES “PROJECT BOUNCE BACK”

Governor Larry Hogan has announced a new program, designed to help young people recover from the effects of COVID-19. “Project Bounce Back” will address what he called “adverse childhood experiences,” or “ACES.” Governor Hogan has committed $25 million to create a public/private partnership for Maryland youth. Six regional mental health teams will reach out to approximately 45,000 children across the state. Through an executive order, Governor Hogan wants to make Maryland a national leader for children affected by adverse childhood experiences. Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford, who was also in attendance for the announcement, noted that May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and noted that “it’s OK to not be OK.”
