TWO CHARGED IN BEDFORD SHOOTINGS

After nearly nine months, the Bedford County District Attorney, Lesley Childers-Potts has filed charges against two men who were involved in a shooting during a Black Lives Matter march through the town in August. Schellsburg resident Terry Myers was charged in the shooting and wounding of Orsino Thurman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Thurman was charged with shooting back at Myers. The incident took place as a group of about 20 Black Lives Matter activists were on their way to Washington, D.C. to mark the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” Speech. The group had stopped in Bedford on August 24th, when the incident took place.
