New jobless claims are up in Maryland. State labor officials say first-time unemployment filings rose by about 17-hundred last week to more than 15-thousand-300. About 63-hundred of the new claims were pandemic-related. Nationwide, first-time jobless claims fell last week to a pandemic low of 444-thousand.
