UTILITY COMMISSION REJECTS POWER LINE PROJECT

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is voting to reject an overhead power line project proposed in south central Pennsylvania.  The commission voted last week four-to-nothing to not allow the project in York and Franklin counties.  Pennsylvania landowners, lawmakers and neighbors like Maryland Governor Larry Hogan have pushed for the project to be scrapped for years.  Over 200 landowners would have lost a portion of their land through eminent domain if it was approved.  The commission said the company behind the project failed to show need for it within the meaning of Commission Regulations.
