BRIDGE COULD RECEIVE FEDERAL FUNDING

Rebuilding the Fayette Street bridge could receive a shot in the arm, in the form of $4.8 million in federal funding. Sixth District Representative David Trone, in a press release, says the funding is part of a $42 million package being secured for eight projects in the District, from Garrett County to northern Montgomery County. The bridge was repaired in January of last year, but city officials would like to see a new bridge at that site. The funding package will be included in the House version of an infrastructure plan called the INVEST in America Act.
