HEALTH DEPARTMENT SCALES BACK COVID-19 TESTING

As of June 15th, there are three new COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths. The Allegany County Health Department has announced it is scaling back the scope of its COVID-19 testing operations at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. As of Friday, there will be no drive through testing, but instead will be a drive-up format at the Multipurpose Building at the fairgrounds. Testing will still be done on Mondays from 2 to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A little over a third of Allegany County residents have now been fulling vaccinated. By comparison, nearly half of all Maryland residents are now fully vaccinated. The local positivity rate is 1.8 per cent, while the state now stands at 0.78 per cent.
