The U.S. House Appropriations Committee will be considering two bills of local interest in the coming weeks, including one for broadband expansion in Garrett County and funding for improvements to the Allegany College of Maryland Theatre. The broadband expansion project would provide high-speed internet from state Route 135 at Mountain Lake Park to Bloomington. The same bill would provide $187,000 for improvements to the ACM Theatre, according to Sixth District Congressman David Trone.
