The Allegany County Health Department will fully reopen for all in-person services on Thursday. Masks will continue to be required for all individuals, age 5 and older, when inside health department buildings. As of Sunday, there have been four new COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths. The county’s positivity rate is slightly more than twice the state rate, at 1.18 per cent, as opposed to .57 per cent. About 35 per cent of the Allegany County population is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Just over 51 per cent of all Marylanders are fully vaccinated.
