BRUBAKER SENTENCED IN VIRGINIA CASE

The former director of the Allegany County Animal Shelter, Karl Brubaker, has been sentenced to ten years in jail, after he pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual battery by a parent of a 13 to 17 year old child in Mathews County, Virginia Circuit Court. The judge in the case, however, suspended 11 months, and 15 days of the sentence, and Brubaker was effectively sentenced to the 15 days he already served. He will be on probation for 20 years, and was ordered to pay $488 in court costs. Brubaker is awaiting sentencing in Allegany County for similar crimes committed against two younger siblings of the victim in the Mathews, Virginia case. He will be sentenced on July 27 in Allegany County Circuit Court.
