District 1-A State Senator George Edwards has announced the 2022 General Assembly session will be his last. In a letter released Monday night, Senator Edwards noted the upcoming session will be his 40th in the General Assembly, and that he has spent the equivalent of 10 years in Annapolis over those past 40 years. Senator Edwards also noted that he is the senior Republican in the Senate. According to the statement, many of the bills he sponsored were passed, and will positively impact District One and the State well into the future. Senator Edwards expressed gratitude for his wife, Linda, and his children.  He says he has missed many activities with his children, and now, grandchildren over the years, but retiring from the Senate will allow him to spend more time with his family.
