WORK SEARCH REQUIREMENT TO RESUME THIS WEEKEND

The work search requirement is being reinstated this weekend for Marylanders receiving enhanced federal unemployment benefits.  State Labor Secretary Tiffany Robinson says everyone receiving jobless benefits will be required to certify they are looking for work.  Maryland tried to end the extra federal benefits but a judge issued a temporary injunction that is forcing to the state to continue making the payments.  The work search requirement for state jobless benefits returned on July 4th.  The rule was suspended during the pandemic.
