The rate of drug overdose deaths in the United States jumped by 30-percent between 2019 and 2020. That rate is even higher in opioid-related drug overdoses. The U.S. National Center for Health Statistics released the numbers from their most recent study yesterday. In West Virginia, the increase of drug overdose deaths was even higher, with more than a 49-percent jump.
