There is a second candidate now in the running for the District 1-A Senate Seat, being vacated by Senator George Edwards, who announced he will be retiring after the next General Assembly session. On Friday, District 1-C Delegate Mike McKay announced he will be running for the post; Delegate McKay also made the announcement at the Allegany County Fair and Ag Expo last night. Allegany County Commission President Jake Shade has also announced his intention to run for the Senate seat. The primary election will be held on June 28th, 2022; the general election will be held on November 8th.
