ONE NEW COVID CASE IN ALLEGANY COUNTY

Allegany County reports only one new COVID-19 case since last Thursday and no additional deaths. The county’s positivity rate is 1.77 per cent, while the state as a whole, is reporting 1.18 per cent. The Health Department is holding two walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the Willowbrook Office Complex, both on Wednesday. From 9 a.m. to noon, both the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be administered; then, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Pfizer COVID vaccine will be administered. Just over 40 per cent of Allegany County residents have been fully vaccinated, compared to 57.7 per cent of all Maryland residents. An added note: there will be no COVID testing this week at the Allegany County Fairgrounds because of the fair; testing will resume there on Monday, July 26th, from 2 to 7 p.m.
