WEST VIRGINIA A.G. REJECTS OPIOID SETTLEMENT

It’s a hard “no” from West Virginia on the pending nationwide opioid settlement with three major prescription drug companies.  West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey says the reason is because the settlement will be based on population, which would reduce the amount a rural state like ours would receive.  Instead, Morrissey is likely to seek a separate settlement which will be based on the severity and intensity the opioid overdose crisis created in the state.
