Maryland is requiring certain state employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Governor Larry Hogan announced the mandate, saying the order applies to so-called “congregate care” facilities, including state-run hospitals, juvenile facilities, prisons and veteran’s affairs locations. Workers who fail to get at least one dose of the vaccine by September 1st will be subject to mandatory testing. Hogan is also urging private operators of the state’s 227 nursing homes to require employees to be vaccinated.
