COUNTY SEES HIGHEST COVID RATE IN MONTHS

Allegany County now has 15.62 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 residents, the highest rate in several months. The local positivity rate is 6.34 per cent, while the state rate also remains high at 4.16 per cent. Forty-six new cases have been reported since Sunday. The CDC rates the level of COVID community transmission as low, moderate, substantial, or high. The local community transition rate has now been rated as “substantial.” The Health Department continues to offer free vaccinations every Wednesday on the ground floor of the Willowbrook Office Complex from 9 to noon, and from 1 to 4 p.m.
