CENSUS SHOWS MARYLAND GROWTH GREW 7 PER CENT

New data from last year’s Census shows Maryland’s population grew seven-percent from 2010 to about six-point-two-million people.  Frederick and Howard counties saw the highest population growth in the last decade, at 16-point-four and 15-point-eight-percent, respectively.  Baltimore City’s population fell five-point-seven-percent, to about 586-thousand people.  The population of the Baltimore region as a whole grew by five-percent.  Every region of the state saw growth except for Western Maryland, where the population fell by point-four-percent.
