MOST SCHOOLS WON’T HAVE MASK MANDATE

Masking won’t be required at schools across the state, despite the COVID cases spiking.  According to Michael Ricci, a spokesperson for Governor Larry Hogan, no statewide mandate is under discussion, instead leaving it up to local jurisdictions.  However, state education officials say they do not have the authority to order students and staff to wear masks while inside school buildings.  Staff are required to be vaccinated or submit to regular testing in Baltimore City as well as the counties of Baltimore, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s.
