DRAMATIC RISE OF DRIVE-THRU COVID-19 TESTING

The Allegany County Health Department has seen a dramatic increase in the number of people seeking testing at drive-thru clinics at the Fairgrounds. To save time and streamline the process, the health department is asking that anyone coming for testing to pre-register online if possible. As of Tuesday, there have been 46 additional COVID cases report, with zero additional deaths. The local positivity rate is 9.33 per cent, while the state is reporting 4.93 per cent. Testing continues Friday from 8 a.m., to 2 p.m., with free COVID-19 vaccinations every Wednesday on the ground floor of the health department from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Nearly 42 per cent of Allegany County residents were fully vaccinated, while 61 percent of all Maryland residents are now fully vaccinated.
