Many little ones are headed back to the classroom and authorities are reminding drivers to stop for school buses. It’s something that seems so simple but Maryland State Police troopers deal with the issue quite often. Drivers can face a 570-dollar fine and a three-point penalty on their driver’s license if they’re caught ignoring the red flashing lights while a bus is stopped. The Maryland Center for School Safety encourages Marylanders to keep a safe distance from school buses and always stop when a bus is picking up or dropping off.
