HOGAN ANNOUNCES OPPORTUNITY ZONE INVESTMENT MONEY

Governor Larry Hogan has announced that seven manufacturing and retail businesses, including one in Allegany County, will share in a $500,000 grant to expand and grow in Maryland Opportunity Zones, which are designated communities that are eligible for federal capital gains tax incentives. Aeon Technologies of Frostburg will receive $80,400. The announcement is the second round of awards made through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Developmentā€™s Neighborhood BusinessWorks Program. The first round of grants was awarded in January of this year.
