MARYLAND ONE OF THE SLOWEST STATES TO GET U.I. BENEFITS

Maryland’s congressional delegation is urging state labor officials to expedite unemployment benefits to Marylanders who’ve been waiting months to receive relief.  They claim Maryland is among the ten slowest states for recipients to receive benefits.  In a letter released today, they said too many Marylanders have to contend with the added hardship of struggling to access the benefits they are owed.  The delegation’s now asking the Department of Labor for data on how many claims have been paid out, and how many still remain pending.
