Governor Larry Hogan has announced more than $12 million in federal highway safety grants, as part of a statewide focus to prevent motor vehicle crashes and eliminate roadway fatalities. Several local groups will share in that grant. The Cumberland City Police will receive $3,000, with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office receiving $2,999.95. Other recipients include the Frostburg City Police Department, at $2,000; the Garrett County Liquor Control Board has been designated to receive $5,152.97. Statewide, the Maryland State Police will receive a grant of $737,975.
