Maryland candidate for governor and state comptroller, Peter Franchot is naming his running mate for the 2022 election. Franchot is tapping Prince George’s County Councilwoman Monique Anderson-Walker to be his lieutenant governor. In a video, Franchot says he wanted to choose a running mate that can help Maryland “build back better” as it emerges from the pandemic. Anderson-Walker is the first African-American woman to be elected to the P-G County Council.
