HEALTH DEPARTMENT URGES SAFE CELEBRATIONS

The Allegany County Health Department is urging residents to safely reduce the spread of COVID-19 this holiday season. Cases in the county are rising again, as 53 new cases have been diagnosed since Sunday, with one additional death. The local positivity rate is more than twice the state average at 8.23 per cent. In Maryland, that rate is 3.62 per cent. There will be a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Allegany County Fairgrounds tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free drive-thru testing is also available tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be no testing at the Fairgrounds on Friday, due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
