Moderna COVID-19 booster vaccine appointments are being made available on Wednesday of next week at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. The Health Department is also offering COVID-19 vaccinations at the fairgrounds on a walk-in basis next Wednesday as well. As of Tuesday, there are 78 new cases in the county, and two additional deaths. The local positivity rate is 8.39 per cent; the state average is 3.75 per cent. In Allegany County, 47.3 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated, as compared to 67.3 per cent of all Maryland residents.
