FORMER MARYLAND FIRST LADY RUNNING FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL

Former Baltimore District Court judge and two-term first lady of Maryland Katie Curran O’Malley is running for Attorney General.  In a statement O’Malley says she’s running to continue helping the people of Maryland. The 59-year-old says she has the experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system that is needed for the job.  O’Malley’s father was Maryland Attorney General from 1987 until 2007, and her husband Martin O’Malley served two terms each as Baltimore mayor and Maryland governor. If elected, O’Malley would become the first woman to serve in the position.
