The Allegany County COVID-19 rate is more than double that of the state’s at 44.43 cases per 100,000. There have been 109 new cases since December 2nd, with one additional death. In comparison, Washington County has 62.14 cases per 100,000. Health officials are urging residents to get tested and vaccinated. Drive-thru testing is being done at the Allegany County Fairgrounds Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Vaccinations and booster shots are available.
